Why this exists
The best-known destinations are excellent. They are not the only answer.
Portugal has established corporate-event hotspots, but the country also has destinations with strong hotels, venues, experiences and local character that receive far less international attention.
High-demand destinations can command higher prices, particularly at busy times of year. Looking beyond the most familiar names can reveal a different value equation, with alternatives for different budgets, group sizes and event objectives.
That does not mean every lesser-known destination is cheaper or better for every event. Dates, availability, transport, accommodation and programme requirements still matter. The purpose of this site is to make those alternatives easier to discover and easier to assess.

Corporate Events Portugal combines direct hospitality experience, teaching in Portugal's hospitality education network, applied research and technology built specifically for hospitality and travel.
Pedro Esteves
Founder
Corporate Events Portugal was founded by Pedro Esteves, whose professional career began in hospitality before expanding into technology, research and digital products.
After graduating in Hospitality Management — Food and Beverage from the Escola de Hotelaria e Turismo de Portimão, part of Turismo de Portugal's network of Hospitality and Tourism Schools, he worked in hotel operations, including as a Concierge at Pine Cliffs Resort between 2015 and 2016 and later in Guest Relations and Duty Management at the former Salgados Palm Village and Salgados Palace, a resort operation with combined capacity for more than 1,800 guests.
He has since taught for more than six years within Turismo de Portugal's Hospitality and Tourism Schools and is also a faculty member at Iscte Executive Education, ranked 41st worldwide and 2nd in Portugal in the Financial Times Executive Education Ranking 2026. He also holds the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines. His work later expanded into tourism, data and artificial intelligence, including peer-reviewed research published in the European Journal of Tourism, Hospitality and Recreation, and the development of hospitality technology through Aplicora.

How we build our guides
Corporate Events Portugal combines local hospitality knowledge with structured destination research. Our Regional Guides, Planning Guides and Destination Pages are built using practical event criteria such as accessibility, transfer time, accommodation, corporate fit, experiences and destination context.
We prioritise official tourism and transport information, publicly available hotel and venue data, and information from local suppliers whenever it materially improves the usefulness of the guide. Because availability, capacities, travel times and prices can change, we favour conservative estimates and identify approximate values as such.
The objective is not to promote every destination equally. It is to identify credible alternatives to Portugal's highest-demand hotspots and help planners understand whether those destinations can match the needs of a corporate group.
From research to a qualified enquiry
The objective of the site is to turn research into action. Whether a planner submits an event request through the homepage journey or from a Destination Page reached through that journey, the goal is to provide the right partner with stronger context from the start.
Corporate Events Portugal helps planners discover regions and destinations that may offer strong value within practical driving distance of Portugal's main gateways, while reducing the need to start with only the best-known and often highest-priced hotspots.
When assistance is requested, the enquiry may be shared with the partner best suited to the event requirements so that commercial support, concierge assistance and operational follow-up can begin more efficiently. Corporate Events Portugal may receive a commercial fee from partners when an introduction results in business.
